A little kopitiam name Pin Pin

This is a relative unknown, little kopitiam frequented by the regulars from the neighbourhood. It is located at the corner of Jalan Dua in Jalan Air Itam. The kopitiam is diagonally opposite the beautiful Hindu temple.

steam chicken

The place caught our attention because it is normally crowded eventhough it doesn’t have much to offer except the Ipoh taugeh chicken. We tried it out and have returned there a few times because the chicken rice is quite cheap compared to other places. A plate of rice is only 60 cents, compared to many places which charge RM1. Moreover, the pek cham keh is better than the average chicken rice shop chicken.

They give you this huge, plastic mug of chillies sauce to help yourself. Beside the steamed chicken, they also have fishball soup and taugeh. It is not the smooth, yummy Ipoh taugeh chicken you get from Ipoh but this stall has its share of customers. So much so that the taukey or the boss is very lansi. You don’t get to choose which part of the chicken you like to order. He will tell you he gives a mixture of chicken breasts, chicken thighs and chicken wings. Take it or leave it. No negotiation allowed.

sar hor fun

The quite edible sar hor fun. Like I said, there isn’t many stalls in this coffeeshop. Only the chicken rice, this so-so hor fun stall and the mee mamak.

mee mamak

The mee mamak is also so-so only. I have heard of good mee mamak but I am not sure if it is the mee mamak from Jalan Satu or Jalan Dua.

mee mamak

We get a huge plate of mee, as high as the mountain, garnished with sotong too.

Have been to this coffeeshop a couple of times since it’s just a stone-throw away from my grandma’s house. The mee mamak..I would prefer the one in Jalan Satu…much cleaner and tasty…and comes in quite a big plate too. But I usually tapao instead of eating at the coffeeshop…hence I can’t remember what’s the name of the shop.
