Long time ago, Aki Pancake used to be located in Taman Seri Nibong in Sungai Nibong. That was more than a decade when I used to stay in Taman Seri Nibong. I lost touched with foods offered in Sungai Nibong, Bayan Baru and Sungai Dua when I moved down to town area.
So, when I found Aki Pancake in Supertanker hawker place in Sungai Dua, I was so pleased. I immediately ordered a brown sugar and grated fresh coconut pancake. The pancake is actually ban chean kueh but Aki has taken the usual peanuts, sugar and corn ban chean kueh to new heights.
He must have at least 20-30 different flavours of pancake. Whatever you can think off, he probably has it. Tuna, ham and cheese, chocolate, pineapple, meat floss etc etc.
I remember I read an article about him. He is a graduate from overseas and during the 90s, our country was facing a recession and he decided to sell pancakes instead of working in factories. He rode a huge, kick-ass big bike and I guess he must be from some rich family. BTW, the phone last digit is 7.
The pancake is not cheap and they go for like RM1.50 per piece and those with ham and cheese is about RM2+. However, it is a nice treat and Aki is really generous with the fillings. So, it is worth a try.
The peanut butter and corn pancake and the other is the chocolate pancake. All of them are so nice. The pancake is crispy, oozing with butter and full of fillings.

(July 17, 2008 - 11:02 am)Ah….Aki Pancake…I was 1st introduced by my bro’s gf during my maiden trip to Pg…Little did i know i ended up studying in USM…It shifted fr it’s Sg Nibong stall to it’s own shop outside Bukit jambul Shopping Complex bt i guess they found it was difficult to maintain their profit margin before deciding to move to Super Tanker. Nice post on AKi Pancake….Do visit http://www.j2kfm.blogspot.com if u like Ipoh or Perak food….From Ipoh’s hor fun, to Taiping’s cendol, to Sitiawan’s seafood, to Teluk Intan chee cheong Fan, etcetera etcetera. It’s a nice www that definitely will transcend u into a gastronomic fantasies on Perak food…Take care

(July 23, 2008 - 1:06 pm)I think Aki’s pancake is the best in town. I can never get enough of it. I tried quite a few pancakes stalls and a distant second would probably the stall opposite the Pulau Tikus police station.
