Ice cream sandwich

icecream
Over at the entrance of the Penang Botanical Gardens, there are two stalls selling icecreams. Both of them have brisk business probably due to the hot weather here in Penang. After a walk in the park, most people will head for a cold drink and icecream.

What makes one of the stall stands out is the huge quantities of icecream cones he has. I had blogged this earlier. However, I found two beautiful photos of the icecreams. One is the icecream sandwich which uses sweet buns instead of cones, as shown above.

The other is of course, the usual icecream in cone.

The ice cream sellers in KL usually serve theirs with multi-colored ice cream. We usually get them at the warehouse sales as they hang outside for business from visitors.

Your pictures of this ice cream is making crave for some.

The shot reminds me of a nephew (8 yo). Every evening after, he’d do his ice cream ritual like this:
    1) quadruple scoops of Haagen Daaz chocolate in his special ice-cream bowl. The scoops gotta be arranged ‘just so’ - 3 at the base with one perched atop. Smother it with lashings and lashings of chocolate sauce. 3)Liberally pepper the whole mess with ‘thousand millions’ - those multi colored sprinkles. 4)Add one layer of chocolate sprinkles. He makes this with studious concentration and in total reverential silence that would put a chef/artist to shame. No one should be foolish enough to hang around him while this ritual is being performed, lest you get blamed if the work of art turns out less than perfect. When it’s done to ‘perfection’ he cradles the bowl and takes slow and careful steps to his ‘TV chair’. He eats it slowy, savouring every spoonful. Of course, it’s a special spoon too. When he’s eating it, he’s got this absolutely rapt look on his face and will not talk or respond to anyone. He is in ice-cream ecstasy. When he’s done, he licks the bowl carefully after which he sticks it on the dish drainer. To his mind, it’s squeaky clean and passes muster for ‘washed’.
