Feel like kicking self

I have missed one of the most beautiful sight. I feel like kicking myself for not having a camera with me to capture the flowers which Penangites term ‘sakura’.

The most beautiful sight was near the Batu Lancang market, on the way to Aliran’s office. The road next to the used to be the Olympia college was soooooo beautiful. Yesterday noon, I was driving home after my class. It was drizzling. The fallen petals turned the road pinkish. I called my hubby to bring the DSLR camera so that when I went home to pick him, we can later go and take the photos.

Unfortunately, by the time we finished our chores, it was already dark.

There is one hawker place, very much hidden from the main road. The place is call Kedai Makanan Labu or something. We went there to have dinner and sat outside, surrounded by flowers.

My son asked me, “Ma, what do you call pumpkin in Bahasa Malaysia?”

Me : Labu

Son : What do you call curry pumpkin?

Me : Kari labu

Son : Say it like how Hokkien ahpek ahpoh say

Me : ……………………………

You get the meaning? If you mispronounce the kari and it sounds kani.

On Sunday morning at 10 am. I took my daughter and drove to the street near PISA.

Wow! the flowering Tecoma trees were really beautiful! We took lots of photos.Makes me happy just looking at them. I drive by this road often and always go ‘Wah!!’ each time I passed.

The flowering trees really look like the Japanese sakura. There were lots of people just stopping their cars there and enjoying the sights. Lots of photographers too. Looks like a popular tourist spot.

But the flowers are surely falling fast and soon there will be less and less blooms. So enjoy them while we can!

Lillian, this is one time someone has the foresight to plant some nice trees. Wonder who is responsible?? These trees were newly planted along newer roads and hardly/seldom found on the older streets.

Yeah, this year the blooms are awesome! You know what, my aunt who is residing in UK e-mailed me some very beautiful shots of these trees along Jalan Mayangpasir near PISA and Sunway Tunas. However, while we enjoy the scene and commend the person who planted it, the sweepers may think otherwise. 😛
