Farlim : Curry fish head
We wanted to go to the Farlim pasar malam on Wednesday night. However, it started drizzling and the stores were packing when we got there. So, we had dinner at this coffeeshop nearby. I forgot to note the name but the curry fish head stall has a huge banner with some Myth name.
Almost every tables there are eating curry fish head in claypot. So, we also give it a try and it is not bad. Though I dislike curry fish head cooked with curry powder like this one, they have make the taste quite balanced. Sweetish, sourish and not too curry powder smell.
They allow you to choose the fish head you want and they will boil it separately and put them into the curry gravy. Beside fish heads, they also have fish fillets and stingrays. The portion of onions and mint leaves are generous so that makes the curry really tasty.
Beside curry fish head, other tables also ordered their belacan chicken.
Nice, crunchy fried chicken that has little belacan smell but a strong flavour of red fermented beancurd or ang tau joo. I have a recipe for belacan chicken if you wish to try making some yourself.
If you know the name of the coffee shop, do let me know.
