Duck’s web barbequed = Chinese delicacies

It is rather rare to find a hawker selling barbequed meats buns by the roadside nowadays. Not many people like to stand there, fanning the charcoal fire to barbeque the Chinese barbequed meat and chicken and duck innards. But it is such a nice snack. The barbequed meat will be sandwiched in soft, steamed buns and some gravy will be poured into the bun to make it even nicer.

I shall try to take a photo of the bun and barbequed meats when I chance upon them. Meantime, I will share another special food which is duck’s web wrapped with intestines.

Trust me, if you can overlook the freakish parts and the fatty parts, you will enjoy this sweetish, different textured meats tremendously. A layer of duck’s intestines is used to wrap the duck’s web.

Inside the duck’s web, there is a piece of belly pork which is very, very tender and also a piece of duck’s stomach (ark kien). All of them seasoned just right, the secret recipe known to only the old man who sells this.

The above is from the Jalan Sekolah LaSalle afternoon hawkers. Don’t forget to order some meat floss buns from him as well if you go.

That’s another one of the Chinese weird but tasty food series. Try it, it is nice.
